A Gift To Africa was officially founded in December 2005 under the name Beautiful Options USA LLC. The company distributes high-end, hand-made and fairly traded crafts made by women in Africa. Products are distributed nation-wide using 3 sales channels: wholesale to other retail establishments and wholesale shows, retail through its gallery, website and retail show and through business-to-business and community special events.

A Gift To Africa was formed as a means to provide export markets for high-end crafts made by various groups of poor and rural women in Africa. The company opened its doors in December 2005, as a wholesale home-based business for jewelry made by women in Kenya. Six months later, the company moved to a retail establishment in downtown Salt Lake City as it expanded product options and sales channels. A year later the company expanded its product line to include women’s groups in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Uganda and Malawi. Presently, the company supports over 10 groups of women in 8 different countries of Africa.

A Gift To Africa distributes hand-made beaded jewelry (necklaces, bracelets and earrings), traditional and pottery, baskets, rock art, hand-made embroidered and recycled greeting cards.
